Bench Joinery Level 2
Who is this course for?
This course is for any student who is looking to expand their skills in carpentry or joinery. For level 2 students can begin to specialise in either site carpentry, bench joinery or shop fitting joinery.
What will you learn?
The Level 2 Bench Joinery Diploma allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Bench Joinery. It covers the following skills:
- Set up and operate a circular saw
- Produce setting out details for bench joinery products
- Mark out from setting out details for bench joinery products
- Manufacture bench joinery products
How long is this course?
This course is one year.
How will I be assessed for this course?
Students on this course will be assessed in both theory-based and practical assessments. Some elements of this course will also require students to complete and pass online examinations as part of the regulations for the qualification.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE's grades 3-9 including Maths and English.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From this course, students can progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship, or be qualified to work within the carpentry progression.
