Carpentry & Joinery Level 1
Who is this course for?
Our Level 1 introduces the learner to carpentry and joinery skills. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in carpentry or joinery.
What will you learn?
The Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery course covers the following skills:
- Producing basic woodworking joints
- Safely using various hand and power tools
How long is this course?
This course is one year.
How will I be assessed for this course?
Students on this course will be assessed in both theory-based and practical assessments. Some elements of this course will also require students to complete and pass online examinations as part of the regulations for the qualification.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE's grades 2-9 including Maths and English.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From this course, students can progress onto our level 2 Bench Joinery course, or prepare them for a level 2 apprenticeship in Bench Joinery.
