Level 3 VTCT Hairdressing
Who is this course for?
This course is for any prospective student that is looking develop their skills within the hairdressing industry, or looking to progress into higher level study employment within the hairdressing sector.
What will you learn?
The purpose of this qualification is to develop practical skills to an advanced level of occupational ability, to enable the student to support salon services to others.
What units will I study?
Monitor and maintain Health and Safety advanced level of occupational ability, to enable the student to support salon services and others
- Hairdressing consultation
- Colour hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
- Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques
- Creative hairdressing designer skills
- Bridal hairdressing
- Manage the creation of a hairstyle collection
How long is this course?
This level 3 course is one year.
How will I be assessed for this course?
For this subject, students will be assessed through internal formal assessments for both practical and theory knowledge and exams. Building portfolio evidence of documentation to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
Students will learn in a supportive classroom environment for their studies. Students will also be able to undertake independent study as part of this course.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE’s grades 4-9, including English and Maths.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From successful completion of this course, students can go on to study another Hairdressing qualification to Level 4 study such as advanced hairstyling, or working commercially as a stylist.
