Level 2 VTCT Hairdressing
Who is this course for?
This course is for any prospective student that is looking develop their skills within the hairdressing industry, or looking to progress into a higher level or hairdressing qualification.
What will you learn?
The purpose of this qualification is to develop practical skills to a high level of occupational ability, and to perform independent salon services within a real-life salon environment.
What units will I study?
- Follow Health and Safety practice in the salon
- Working in the hair industry
- Client consultation
- Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
- Colour and lighten hair
- Cut hair using hairdressing techniques
- The art of hairdressing
- Create and image based on a theme
- Promotion
- The art of colouring hair
How long is this course?
All of our Level 2 courses are one year long.
How will I be assessed for this course?
For this subject, students will be assessed through internal formal assessments for both practical and theory knowledge and exams. Building portfolio evidence of documentation to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
Students will learn in a supportive classroom environment for their studies. Students will also be able to undertake independent study as part of this course.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE’s grades 3-9, including English and Maths.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From successful completion of this course, students can go on to study another Hairdressing qualification to Level 3 study, or an apprenticeship such as Level 3 Barbering apprenticeship.
